About the Opening Bell: an independent catalog with referral links
A small independent desk, a single subject, and links that may earn a referral fee. Here is the rest.
Who writes the Opening Bell
The Opening Bell is an independent guide to the gap between a sale deadline and an agent’s purchase. It explains which facts to record, what to ask and when to stop before paying. We have not measured how often timed orders fail or established a ranking of their causes.
Why this site rather than any other catalog: it explains one problem thoroughly instead of everything briefly. The catalog links on it lead to live shelves; the explanations lead back to the rules and the archive they rest on.
How the site earns
Every shelf link here is tagged for referral tracking; if a reader buys after following one, we may receive a fee. The link to cnfans.com carries the same kind of tag. While the maintenance notice is up it opens only the CNFans home page; when the agent site returns, it may point to a sign-up page that credits us for the referral, and this paragraph will say so.
No seller, marketplace or agent pays for a place on these pages, and nothing here is scored or rated.
What this site leaves out
Some things are left out on purpose. We do not list, and will not help anyone buy, goods made to pass as another company's brand. We do not describe or rate tools for winning flash slots, which Taobao bans as merchandise. We do not give advice on customs declarations. We do not publish promotion codes or prices without a date.
Those choices cost some traffic. They also keep the catalog and the notes useful for longer, because the things we leave out are the things that break or get taken down first.
Change record for these notes
This site was built and last updated on 19 October 2026. Changes after that will be listed here with their dates, most recent first, so that a returning reader can see what moved.
- 19 October 2026: first version. Rules read in the Taobao rules centre; cnfans.com visited and found showing its maintenance notice; shelf photographs picked.
